81mm Family

Soltam Systems' 81mm bombs achieve their maximum performance when fired from SOLTAM mortars, but they can be fired from all qualified smooth bore 81mm mortars existing in the customers inventory.
The 81mm mortar is used to provide quick response fire support at the platoon , company and battalion level of infantry or mechanized infantry.
The fire support assists the infantry combat unit in defending and seizing ground, maneuvering and at the same time preventing the enemy from doing likewise.
The standard HE and WP bombs are fitted with PD M111B1 fuze or PD & Delay M111A2 fuze.
Another option for the HE bomb is a (proximity) M788 PRX fuze.
The WP bomb is used for smoke screening , blinding enemy observation devices and target designation. In addition to these types  Practice and Illuminating bombs are also available.
