Comprehensive Artillery Systems

Soltam’s upgrading, modernization and new-manufacture programs provide integrated, multi-disciplinary solutions for artillery force equipment and operation in a mechanized/armored brigade, encompassing virtually all echelons - firing units, command and surveillance vehicles and brigade/division-level artillery command posts.
Supported weapons include gun howitzers of various calibers and lengths and 120mm recoil mortar systems. For mobility, these guns are truck-mounted and the mortar systems are tracked/wheeled and self-propelled. When required, the platforms’  power-pack and major systems (fuel, electrical, cooling, cold start and air filtration) are subjected to complete automotive upgrade and modernization.
Battery and Battalion Fire Direction Centers (FDC) and Forward Observer (FO) vehicles are provided as truck-mounted shelters and/or tracked/wheeled armored vehicles, equipped and integrated according to Customer specifications and mode of operation. The FOs are additionally equipped with a vehicular or portable target acquisition system, including positioning, navigation and north-finding system (inertial / GPS / astronomical); day / night surveillance telescope; and laser rangefinder / goniometer for ranging and fire correction
Each vehicle is delivered with a full electronic suite for achievement of its fire control and C3I missions, including tactical / ballistic computer and software; positioning, navigation and orientation system (inertial / GPS);  Gunner's Display, with optional auto-laying; radio communication (voice / data, secure / immune); internal communication; gun laying system  (positioning and orientation); and muzzle velocity radar for guns.
For autonomous operation, the brigade/divisional artillery may be further supplemented with one or more each of independent meteorological station(s) and a fleet of Unmanned Airborne Vehicles (UAVs) for surveillance and fire control.
